Traveled by train through Leon and arrived in Astorga around 1 p.m. today. This is a small quaint town with little English spoken. Speaking on the phone when calling on our "apartment" was a challenge as was checking in and getting dinner. We got by with our translation app & for the most part people have been patient and kind. That's a grace on us!
We visited the Palace of Gaudi Astorga and Santa Maria Cathedral.
Our "apartment"- the El Descanso de Wendy has a little balcony with a great view. It has a small kitchen with coffee, tea and sweets available 24/7 which is pretty nice!
We will begin our walk tomorrow morning. It has been rainy today and is also in the forecast for tomorrow. We've scouted out the town and found the El Camino trail...we are ready!!
